2024 Spring Social for Child Protection

Friday, May 10, at 6:30pm-11pm

Location: East Bank Club, Chicago, IL

It may be cold outside for Chicagoland but we're warming up with all things KIDS TOO Spring Social for Child Protection! This marquee KIDS TOO event is about to get better than ever and we invite you to support our child protection goals by becoming a member of our committee!

The event will take place at the one-of-a-kind East Bank Club, overlooking the sparkling Chicago River with craft cocktails, an exciting live auction, delightful appetizers, and unforgettable live music. Our spring event supports the child protection areas such as online safety, sexual abuse, and more to ensure every child lives a trauma-free life.

Committee members for the 2024 KIDS TOO Spring Social event serve a critical role in the success of the event by spreading the word; lining up sponsors and gathering attendees to learn first-hand about the work being done to empower parents and protect kids.

Fourth Annual Program + Fundraiser (Virtual)

Attend our annual program where we will transport to Zialena Winery in Sonoma County and recognize the 2021 P.A.X.A. Warrior and P.A.X.A. Parent.

The 2021 P.A.X.A. Warrior is Terri Miller, President of the Board of Directors at Stop Educator Sexual Abuse Misconduct and Exploitation (S.E.S.A.M.E.). Her responsibilities include providing support, resource materials and research to survivors, their families, professionals and media. She is the mother of four grown children, grandmother to twins, and considers herself a M.O.M. or Momma On a Mission.

We are also thrilled to recognize Survivor Advocate, Faith Colson, as the 2021 P.A.X.A. Parent. Faith Colson is an advocate for child protection. Growing out of her personal experience as the survivor of sexual abuse, Faith has been working to get legislation passed in Illinois to better protect students from abuse in schools. As the mother of three children currently attending public schools, Faith also serves on a task force in another state that looks at school-based mental health services.

During the wine tasting experience, guests will enjoy and learn about three of Zialena's top wines- 2019 Sauv Blanc, 2016 Zinfandel, and a 2015 Cabernet. The sommeliers will take us through Zialena's wine making process - starting in the tasting room, through the vineyard and ending at their production facility.

The Conversations Program

Join us to kick off for The Conversations Program with Co-founder, Tania Haigh, and special guests: Terri L. Miller & Faith Colson.

This component of the P.A.X.A. Child Sex Abuse Program is primarily focused on several conversations to focus on prevention measures to prohibit child sexual abuse. This program is held with parents and/or adults in positions working around children. We hold the program quarterly via YouTube for parents to provide the platform for anyone to listen to our ongoing series. Throughout each one of our programs P.A.X.A. uses our 4-step uncovering process to help parents, adults or children uncover how to identify tactics, patterns, and behaviors.
